Following the 11:00 AM Mass on Sunday, June 22, the parish community of Sacred Heart took part in a solemn Eucharistic Procession in celebration of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Led by Father Arjay carrying the Blessed Sacrament in the Monstrance, the faithful processed reverently through the neighborhood surrounding the church, accompanied by prayer, hymn, and silent adoration.
The procession was organized by Faith Director Brother Lorne Gartner, with the support of our council. The Knights of Columbus were honored to assist in various roles that contributed to the dignity and reverence of the occasion. Those who took part included Brothers Gil Escobar, Sheldon Farrar, Bob Velasco, Rob Perrin, John Leahy, Lawrence Ator, Roy Ifill, Rex Salazar, Hany Farag, and Eric Evano, as well as Sir Knights Bryan Wynker, Roland Reeves, and Leslie Kiss. SK Roland Reeves also photographed the event, helping to preserve its memory for the parish.
We were pleased to welcome Brother Eric Evano as he took part in his first Knights of Columbus event. His readiness to serve alongside his brother Knights reflects well on the future strength of our council.
The visible participation of the Knights, serving as cross and candle bearers, guards for Father and the Eucharist, and guides for the faithful, was an expression of our ongoing commitment to the Church and to the reverence due to the Blessed Sacrament.
This procession stood as a clear and humble witness to the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It brought our parish together in prayerful unity and offered a moment of grace to the wider community who encountered it.
