In this ceremony\, candidates are formally received as Knights of Columbus. The exemplification presents the lessons of Charity\, Unity and Fraternity in a single\, prayerful ceremony that replaces the former separate degrees and is intended to help men live these principles more deeply in their families and parish life. \nThe exemplification itself will take place in the church\, with a simple reception in the Hetherington Room afterward. \nDetails \n\nDate: Saturday\, November 22\, 2025\nTime: About 10:00 a.m. (following the 9:00 a.m. Mass)\nLocation: Sacred Heart Parish\, Calgary\nExemplification in the church\nReception in the Hetherington Room\n\nHost: Knights of Columbus\, Monsignor Doyle Council 1186 \nWhat to expect \nCandidates\, their sponsors\, and brother Knights attend the 9:00 a.m. Mass\, then remain in the church for the exemplification. The ceremony includes prayer\, readings and reflections on the principles of charity\, unity and fraternity\, a presentation of the ideals of the Order\, and the formal act by which the candidates become Knights of Columbus. Families may be invited according to council practice so that they can witness the promises being made. \nAfter the ceremony\, there will be a brief reception in the Hetherington Room to welcome the new Knights and allow time for fellowship and photos. \nHow to participate \nParticipation in this exemplification is arranged through Council 1186: \n\nCandidates scheduled for this exemplification will receive instructions on dress\, arrival time\, and any remaining paperwork from their sponsor or from the council membership team.\nSponsors\, brother Knights\, and invited family members who plan to attend are asked to coordinate with council leadership so that roles and seating can be arranged appropriately.

McGrattan on Sunday\, November 23\, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Community\, Calgary. \nThis Mass honors young altar servers from parishes across the diocese for their faithful service at the altar. Many priests first began their vocation journey as altar servers\, so our visible presence and prayerful support as Knights can be a real encouragement to them. \nBrother Knights are encouraged to be present in the pews\, to pray for these young people\, and to show them that the Knights of Columbus stand with them and their families as they are recognized.

DESCRIPTION:Knights of Columbus Council 1186 is hosting a special Movie Night on Sunday\, November 30\, featuring a short film on Saint Carlo Acutis and his love for the Eucharist. \nThe film (about 35 minutes) presents the life of Saint Carlo and his work compiling Eucharistic miracles from around the world\, connecting directly with our recent Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibition. This Movie Night also complements the recent renaming of Sacred Heart’s Upper Hall as St. Carlo Acutis Hall\, honoring his witness in the life of our parish. \nThe event will take place after the 5:00 p.m. Mass in the Lower Hall at Sacred Heart Parish.\nAfter the screening there will be a brief guided conversation and simple refreshments.
